Fani Fine Jewelry is an independent brand, designed by the archaeologist Gkounti Fani, based in Thessaloniki, Greece. Using precious metals, FJ pieces imagined & handcrafted exclusively in Greece. BEHIND THE BRAND. Born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece, second generation goldsmith, Fani Gkounti, studied at Jewelry Design & Manufacturing School of Thessaloniki, and graduated from the School of History & Archaeology, at the Faculty of Philosophy, in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her first experience with molten metals developed into a passion for making jewelry. She was a little girl with her father’s jewelry workshop as her playground, when she saw him melting gold. Since then, she fell in love with the natural beauty of precious metals. Influenced by her studies in Archaeology, creates fine jewels, inspired by ancient shapes and symbols, emphasizing on her home country’s rich history. Imperfect shapes with rough finishes, make her creations look like they were made thousands of years ago. Combining old-world craftsmanship with modern thinking, her jewelry line reflects her own personal style, simple and timeless, with a scientific twist.
